A moment from community outreachWho we are
A formal home for work that began in the community.
Sama Sojah Cares Ug. Ltd was incorporated on 12 June 2026, giving a formal institutional home to community concerns that had already appeared in Sama Sojah’s public-interest music and outreach. Since 2019, that work has addressed nonviolence, HIV-related stigma, public health, environmental protection, school retention and the choices facing young people.
The organisation was created to move from awareness into responsible action. Its mandate brings together education, protection, health, livelihoods, creative opportunity, advocacy, environmental care and support for people who may otherwise be overlooked.
We work with communities as participants, not simply as recipients. We listen before designing, protect dignity and privacy, use resources for their stated purpose and report honestly on progress. Proposed projects remain clearly identified until they have been funded, implemented and verified.
Follow the documented journey →Our scope
A broad mandate, organised into six clear pillars.
The organisation’s governing documents cover 11 areas and 106 objectives. For practical programme design and public understanding, we bring that mandate together under six connected pillars.
Learning, protection and young people
We support learning, school retention, child protection, mentorship and life skills for children and young people.
Girls, boys and family dignity
This work addresses the different needs of women, girls, men and boys while promoting mental wellbeing, responsible parenting and safer family life.
Health, WASH and community care
We develop practical responses in preventive health, hygiene, sanitation, nutrition, psychosocial wellbeing and care for older persons.
Music, culture and creative opportunity
Music, storytelling, heritage, media and performance are used to support learning, advocacy, talent and cultural identity.
Livelihoods and environmental action
Our livelihood and environmental work includes vocational skills, agribusiness, coffee, enterprise, clean water and the responsible use of natural resources.
Advocacy, inclusion and partnership
We promote dignity, inclusion and peaceful coexistence while building accountable relationships with communities, institutions and businesses.
For development partners
A local platform for responsible partnership.
Strong community work requires more than good intentions. It requires a clear purpose, realistic design, responsible use of resources, protection of the people involved and evidence that can be reviewed.
Community-informed design
We begin with the people, local realities and verified needs that a proposed intervention is intended to address.
Clear programme logic
Each partnership should define its scope, intended results, responsibilities, budget, safeguards and practical delivery arrangements.
Accountable resources
We commit to documented decisions, proportionate controls, responsible procurement and clear financial and narrative reporting.
Evidence and learning
We distinguish proposals from completed work, maintain appropriate records and use feedback to improve future activities.
What prospective partners may request
Registration and governance documents, the organisation profile, relevant policies, programme concepts, budgets, results frameworks, safeguarding arrangements and reporting plans can be shared during an appropriate due-diligence process. Our policy framework covers safeguarding, finance and administration, internal controls, procurement and assets, human resources, ethics and anti-fraud, data protection and consent, complaints, document retention and reporting.

From the Founder and Executive Director
Waiswa Ivan Tonny Kizito
Sama Sojah
“Music allowed me to speak about what I saw in society. But awareness alone does not put a child back in school, help a young person find direction or restore dignity to a family. Sama Sojah Cares Ug. Ltd is our commitment to move from the message to the work. We will listen first, act responsibly and make every partnership answer to the people it is meant to serve.”
Waiswa Ivan Tonny Kizito, professionally known as Sama Sojah, is a Ugandan reggae artist and cultural storyteller. His public-interest music addressed peace, health, environmental care, school retention and youth responsibility before the organisation was incorporated in June 2026. Sama Sojah Cares Ug. Ltd gives that concern a formal structure for programmes, partnerships and accountable community action.
